 I would like to thank my Mentor for children and prevention stomatology, Dr. Jovan Krastic, for giving me the icon of St. Antipa in 2002 that helped me to realize that the stomatologists have their own Protector Saint as well. From that moment on I knew which Saint Day I will celebrate. That Saint Day is celebrated on April 24 and ever since our practice started we celebrate this Saint Day. The original St. Antipa icon is on the icon stand of the Garden Church at Sveta Gora. The icon displayed in our premises has been painted by Nina Vasiljevic based on the icon from Sveta Gora.
Priest Martyr Antipa, Episcope from Pargam, in Asia. He is mentioned in the Book of Revelation as Antipa, truthful witness of mine (2, 13), who was killed at your place, where the Satan lives, e.g. in the city of Pergam. The citizens of this city used to live in the darkness of adultery and in the ultimate impurity; they were the slaves of the passion, descanters, satraps, blood-mixtures, Satan servers in one word. And there, together with them, lived Antipa, “as a light in the middle of the darkness, as a rose in the middle of the thorns, as a gold in the middle of the mud”. The good and the right was considered to be the one who would kill and murder a Christian. All pagan religion consisted of auspice, interpretation of dreams, serving to the demons and the ultimate vice. Afraid of Antipa as of a fire, the demons appeared in the æðå÷åâèìà dreams and confessed that they are afraid of Antipa and that because of him they hadto leave the city. Æðå÷åâè raised a number of people against Antipa and started èñò¼àçàâàòè and force him to abandon Christ and to make an obeisance to the Idols. Antipa said to them: “If your so-called Gods, the masters of the universe are afraid of me, mortal man and they have to leave this city, don’t you see that all your religion is a mistake?” And also told them the Saint about the Christ’s religion as the only truthful and sanative one. But they became furious as the beasts and they dragged the old man Antipa before the temple of Artemida, in front of which the ox casted in bronze was standing. They ignited the ox with the fire and threw inside the God’s Servant. St. Antipa, inside of the ox on fire, glorified the God with the mercifulness, as Jona before him did in the kit or three îòðîêà in the sove on fire. And Antipa was praying for his ïàñòâó and for all people until his soul separated from his perishable body and flew towards the Angels in the Christ’s Empire. He died in the pain and he óâåí÷à ñå with the glory unfaded for 92 years.
PRAYER
O, glorious priest martyr Antipa and to all Christians in illness fast helper! I believe with all my soul and my thought that the Lord presented You with the gift to cure the ills, to give the health to the unable and to strengthen the disabled. Therefore, I, unable, come to You, merciful curer of the ills, and I lip Your worshipping icon with holiness and I pray: cadge for me ill, by Your advocacy with the Czar Celestial, to cure my toothache that tortures me and even if I am unworthy of You, the most merciful Father and my tireless commissioner, please support God’s love for mankind through my diverting from the bad deeds towards the good living; make me worthy of Your protection and with Your greatly gifted mercy cure the wounds and injuries of my soul and my body, give me the health and the salvation and the progress in all so that I could by quietly and bezmolvno living in all religionness and purity be worthy to celebrate with all Saints All-Saint Name of the Father and the Son and the Holly Spirit. Amen.
